Auto vehicle double insured under Geico OK

I had Geico for my car insurance and gave it to my brother to drive two years ago, I have not driven the vehicle since. Unknowing to me, my brother also purchased a Geico policy for the vehicle, so the same vehicle was double insured. I was wondering if I could get my or my brother money back for the months the vehicle was double insured.

According to the contract, "If other insurance is obtained on your insured auto, any similar insurance afforded under this policy for that auto will terminate on the effective date of the other insurance." It seems like my policy would have been canceled no?
