Do you think the Cthaeh is evil?

I am listening to WMF on audible (again) and just passed the chapter where Kvothe speaks to the Cthaeh. Everything following now is not a thoroughly constructed theory, but more like thoughts that made me wonder for a while and that I'd like to hear a few opinions about.

I think it the Cthaeh isn't necessarily evil. While it certainly is sadistic, I don't think it is evil in nature, just like I don't think felurian is evil and gruesome for luring men to their death. In the book felurian is described as a force of nature, like a storm or flood that isn't particularly evil for the destruction and death it leaves behind. I think it might be similar with the Cthaeh. It just does what it is born to do. If it was innately evil, it wouldn't be beyond it to lie in order to make others suffer.

Also it isn't omniscient. It doesn't seem to know how Kvothe reacts to the truths it tells him beforehand and it vaguely guesses what "why?" Kvothe is asking. On top if that, it doesn't seem to speak to others, but waits for other to come to it.

It doesn't know people's intentions. It is surprised to gear Kvothe wants to kill the seven. Therefore it also wouldn't know what people are going to do after listened to its answers. The chronicler is right too, when he says the Cthaeh's power is limited by default.

While it urges anyone near it to ask questions, it only answers when it's being asked. It's a wild guess, but maybe it feeds on questions (or maybe pain) and only gives torturing truths to sustain itself.

Lastly, it might even be possible that it really wanted to help Kvothe, but couldn't do so because he ran away. Our only lead to the Cthaeh's alinement is a story Bast tells us, where it's words lead to a tragedy, but that story doesn't exactly prove the Cthaeh's bad intentions.

PS: I'd like to support my guesses with quotes from the book, but sadly I don't have the actual english text passages to do so and I don't think german quotes would be a great help for people here.
