I'm the second owner. I purchased it used in 2001 when I got my first real job to add to the collection of autos my dad and I had. Neither of us ever carried it and since acquiring it, it's rarely been fired. Though it was legal for him to carry due to his background, I was not permitted to as a civilian. He was sick and passed so it's been a safe queen, properly stored.
The first owner received it from MT as did the rest of his unit. They were allowed to choose their configuration and when the knives were delivered, each was in sterile packaging. It never had a retail box. We made the deal through a military forum.
I sent it recently for a "spa day" to have documentation prior to selling. Microtech supplied the new box. It needed no sharpening and has the original factory edge. I also wanted them to fix what had caused some rubbing in two areas. They were its only flaws. It is the way it was made decades ago, and that tracking was improved upon through the years. In the photos you'll see other 11/99 black tanto blades with the same areas of rubbing. Some 2002s still show touches in the same areas. They are its only flaws. The Kydex you'll enjoy, if you decide to use it. It was not stored in it, but did arrive in it. It can be positioned and comfortably carried in dozens of ways. It's not easy to find this complete.
