Tome 22's hints at Tokyo Ghoul (With Some New Info!)
First off, if Tokyo Ghoul is the March Chapter, Tome 22 will be the tome which releases prior to the Tokyo Ghoul chapter.
A lot of people believe Tome 22 is supposed to be somewhat of a Hellraiser tome without being tied to the Hellraiser license, due to The Knight and Blight's skins specifically, being very Hellraiser-coded.
Something though, which I'm aware other people have picked up on in the Tome, is this.
Some of the Survivor Cosmetics possess eyes with Red Irises, and Black Sclera. This is significant, because in Tokyo Ghoul, a Ghoul's "Kakugan", or eyes with Red Irises, and Black Sclera, is one of their defining physical attributes.
Now, I'm aware this has already been shared, but I'd like to add my insight here. Some people have made the argument that the eyes in the Survivor cosmetics appear to be pink/magenta/purple, rather than red, but there are a few reasons why I disagree. The main reason being that the eyes are very small, and are hard to tell exactly what color they are, BUT the eyes on both Nea and Jeff's shirts are clearly red with a slight tint of Magenta. You can even tell it's meant to be Red on Nea's shirt due to the blood dripping down from the corner of the eye, on the graphic. So yes, these eyes are red.
In Tokyo Ghoul, there exists One-Eyed Ghouls. These are Ghouls that rather than possessing a single Kakugan, only possess One. Due to them being Half-Ghoul, Half-Human. Ken Kaneki, the main protagonist, is a One-Eyed Ghoul. He only has One Kakugan. This is significant because, in Tokyo Ghoul, One-Eyed Ghouls are exceptionally rare. Only a handful of them actually exist, compared to the rest of Ghouls. Due to this, the one-eye aspect is very significant. So much so, that another One-Eyed Ghoul in the series is called "The One-Eyed Owl". Kaneki even inherits the title of "The One-Eyed King", at some point.
Now, let's take a look at another cosmetic introduced in Tome 22.
Yep, that's right. The Hag has a cosmetic with a single red eye, and the other one is completely black. I've yet to see anyone else point this out yet, probably because they didn't draw this connection, but the most DAMNING fact about this is that it's on a cosmetic for The Hag. For those who don't know, The Hag is a cannibal, and is tied to cannibalism. In Tokyo Ghoul, Ghouls must eat Human flesh to Survive, and some Ghouls even eat other Ghouls to become stronger. These Ghouls which cannibalize on their own kind are called Kakuja, and Ken Kaneki (the rumored Killer for March) eventually becomes a Kakuja in the series.
This cosmetic is probably the most significant hint we've gotten so far for Tokyo Ghoul being the next chapter in DBD, especially considering it's in the same tome as the other cosmetics which also share the similarly-colored eyes, and I've seen no one comment on it yet, so I wanted to bring this to light, and draw the connection for those of you who are unfamiliar with the series.
Now, these hints are very small, definitely not enough to support the theory That Tokyo Ghoul is the March Chapter alone, but this along with the rest of the evidence, such as The Ghoul's Lament in Greenville Square, what Mathieu Cote said about the March chapter, and the fact that the first leaker to bring Tokyo Ghoul into discussion has still yet to be discredited, seems to me like there's actually a lot of evidence to support this theory (even some of which has been provided by BHVR themselves).
What do you all think?
