Pushed to resign after injuring my hernia 4 months after surgery.

Ok so first off to set the stage I have worked for Lowes as an unloader for the past 3 years. My official schedule for the past year was 5-9 or 5-10PM but typically I worked 6 hours or more. We are not allowed to leave until all the tasks are done but do to the dysfunction of my store a typical day would be clean the bay of trash and appliances left by day crew before we could even start. Sometimes this could take up to 3 hours before we can start the truck. I am not allowed a break or a lunch even when I work 7 hours. They tell us we can take a break after all tasks are done knowing dam well that is after our clock out time.

Back in August I had hernia surgery and upon returning to work I was greeted with me and 1 coworker for the first 2 week :/. I was on a 50lB limit for the first 2 months returning. Unfortunately that is easier said than done.

After only 3 days back my supervisor who came in earlier to push us 200% was demanding I take a 7K lb pallet of tile to the floor with a jack to which I refused. I pushed it to the side in plumbing (which I never should have moved an inch) and made him mad in the process. I am pushed to where my stomach is killing me and I take a 15 minute break. Upon returning I get an earful by my supervisor why I left “You’re not allowed a break ” and when I told him I am on light duty and needed to rest he responded I don’t care about your light duty.

I don’t remember the whole argument that ensued but it resulted in me telling him to piss off and me walking out. For the next few weeks I was getting reports from overnight coworkers that that supervisor was bitching about me to them and saying things like "that kid that walked out on me I am going to make sure we get rid of him"

Long story short 4 months of overdoing it my pain slowly got worse until in December I go back to the surgeon’s office and am told to get another CT scan unfortunately this takes weeks due to insurance being a bitch and I know this. After talking with my manager about getting a few weeks off or going to light duty even contemplating putting in my 2 weeks. I am told that I am an insurance liability and asked to resign :/. To which I did.

I don’t regret leaving I regret ever coming back after walking out. Unfortunately since I left IDK if I am eligible for workman comp or not.

Update: 3/3/2023. I don't need another surgery though they do not know why I am in so much pain other than agreeing that me overdoing it "may be related". I was referred to a pain specialist but they won't take my insurance so I am SOL.

I contacted about a dozen Attorneys who either never responded or told me I don't really have a case since my injury did not occur on a specific day/ incident.

Thanks Blowe's I mean Lowe's... Nay it's Blowe's.
