Installing sliding pots on electirc guitars...can it happen?

Pure curiosity here...

Would it be possible to fit a sliding pot to an electric guitar instead of a rotation pot? Either for tone or volume

Obviously if altering an existing guitar, a channel would have to be made in the body etc. This is more asking would it actually work? Has anyone done it?

Interested to see what answers come, so TIA for any that do 🤝🙂
