At what point should someone realistically get stitches?
Sorry if this isn't allowed, I'd just like some advice. Posted a similar post in r/ selfharm just in case
I just went to beans, and there are some fat bubbles poking out. I did as best as I could to close it with medical tape, making sure I kept the skin together enough so that it wouldn't stick to the fat. It's a very short cut, and my brain just can't take it seriously or considering it worth it to go to the trouble of stitches, where I'd probably only get one or two or even just steristripped.
I've never had to get stitches for a self harm cut before. In fact, I did do a very similar cut before, about a year or so ago, and it healed fine but just took much longer. Idk what are yalls experience with stitches
