Xiaomi camera app stopped working

I have been using Mi 10 5G. My inbuilt camera app stopped working and it shows this (Cant connect to the camera. This app will be closed in 3 sec. After this, wait a minute or two and try again.) message.

Although I have been able to use my camera through all the other apps (insta, snapchat and third party camera apps) except the xiaomi camera app. Any suggestions on what can be done?
