Trump just put a tax increase of $425 million on the state of Nebraska via his tariffs on Canada.
In 2023, Nebraska exported 1.7 billion in goods to Canada, representing 21% of Nebraska's total goods. Over $500 million was ag machinery and natural gas and itwas steadily growing. Still think a trade war is good for the Cornhusker state? It is not Canada that will pay these tariffs, but all of us Huskers. This does not include any numbers for Mexico, China or the EU.
Edit: Corrected year and number amount. State Information sited for this post can be found at the United State Trade Representative website.
