How to implement barcode inventory management system?

Hello! I work for a company that currently uses net suite and they are wanting to implement a barcode system. My question is how do I scan the barcodes into net suite?

Basically my boss is wanting everyone to have tablets that they use to scan the barcodes into net suite. Would it be as simple as having a Bluetooth scanner connected to the tablet and having net suite open?

Basically I’m trying to find a more streamlined way of doing it without having to pull up netsuite on the device, is there a mobile app (other than netsuites, my company doesn’t want to get the WMS) that is free/cheap that can integrate seamlessly with netsuite?

I’ve been doing research on this topic for almost two weeks now and I understand if we got the WMS it would make my life a lot easier but my bosses think we can use the native functionality in netsuite to do it, which we might it just won’t be as streamlined/easy to learn.

If we just had an app like SCM mobile it would make this a lot easier.
