when & why did you stop breastfeeding

first time mom here! my daughter is currently 4 months old. i have been having a hard time producing breastmilk. i almost always have to make her a bottle so she can get full. i have thought about exclusively formula feeding. it's draining feeling like i'm not providing enough for her. i also know my mother will give me a hard time about it..
