Should I be concerned?
27F, I had a CT ABD/PEL with IVCON as ordered by my GI. The result notes showed “left renal artery compressed as it is transverses between the abdominal aorta and SMA. Recommend seeing vascular surgery to confirm nutcracker phenomenon”
I saw the vascular surgeon, he reviewed the CT (was shocked and said it was significantly compressed) did a physical exam and we talked about my laundry list of symptoms. He said that none of the symptoms effecting my everyday life could be related to this. Said the back/stomach-abdominal pain I experience is in the incorrect areas. He said I need to gain weight (lost 100 lbs in a year with no change in diet or exercise, still don’t know why and I’ve been trying to gain for two years) I’m 5’7 105lbs.
There’s not much info online in regards to nutcracker phenomenon but I saw some info on here that match some of my everyday symptoms. I just have a hard time believing that something like this can ONLY cause back and flank pain.
I guess I’m just confused and looking for some clarity to see if it’s syndrome vs phenomena.
Should also note I have a POTS, PCOS, ENDO&ADENO diagnosis
