Should I even bother? [30YO]
Hey everyone, new to this group and honestly my first post. Anyway, as my 20s are in the past I find myself more and more wanting to get back into skating. When I was 13 I skated…. Being a loose term. I tried to do stationary tricks on my porch and never landed one. But I was obsessed with the likes of Rodney Mullen, P-Rod, Danny Way. Even had a sick Danny way board. Now that I’m oldish, it’s been itching at me…. I never landed a kickflip. Nothing. Not once. I feel it deep inside me that I need to at least accomplish that. My worry is, I’m not a teenager and I don’t bounce back. I have a back injury that likes to rear its head once or twice a year. A 2 year old that needs constant attention. And a worrying wife haha. I’m not so much worried about eating pavement, or the pain that comes with committing as much as I am bailing and messing up my back to where I have to miss work. Being a industrial electrician, I have a pretty physical job and not the most understanding boss. . Dumb being an adult. So I guess my reason for posting is to ask some of you other folks that may have been in my shoes. Should I even bother? Or should I play it safe? How likely are you to get hurt that badly just doing basic ground tricks? No vert, stairs, or gaps. Just good ol pavement.
ALSO to make it fun, what was everyone’s first board setup they could remember? Mine was a black and white Danny way board with a bursting design. With some white Krux and a pair of spitfires.
Sorry if I messed anything up, first time posting.
