What worked for me
I replied earlier to a thread and realized since my PF has been under control now for 3-4 (!!!) months, I have not shared exactly what worked for me. I found these threads so helpful as I tried to figure out strategies to try!
First, a little about me —- 30something female elementary teacher. I have always had foot problems as an adult but I think my plantar fasciitis really took hold after being pregnant and then not working in a physical classroom for 8 months due to maternity leave and Covid. I think my feet grew while I was pregnant but since Covid hit I never even wore shoes enough to notice until it was too late! Plus, I know gaining weight can contribute, and I definitely did while pregnant and home during lockdown!
Anyway, here’s what seems to finally worked for me after many trips to the podiatrist:
Threw out the expensive insoles my doctor made for me, truly think they were making things worse.
Bought Brooks ghosts, I wear them every single day to work even when it does not look cute.
Wore these heel inserts with them: Heel That Pain Plantar Fasciitis Insoles | Heel Seats Foot Orthotic Inserts, Heel Cups for Heel Pain and Heel Spurs | Patented, Clinically Proven, 100% Guaranteed | Blue, Medium (W 6.5-10, M 5-8) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0033ZC7SW/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_ZEHG1KM383KR0JRY9HXN
Bought these sandals for around the house: Orthotic Sandals for Women, Plantar Fasciitis Sandals for Flat Feet, Orthopedic Walking Slide Sandals with Arch Support https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08LY87JSK/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_3Y4MRGZ3RXW492RVXGVD
Bought this, stretched religiously with it for like 3 weeks. Now I only get it on when I feel like I need it: Vive Foot Rocker - Calf Stretcher for Achilles Tendinitis, Heel, Feet, Shin Splint, Plantar Fasciitis Pain Relief - Stretches Strained Leg Muscle - Ankle Wedge Stretch Improves Flexibility https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B015D9VG14/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_ZSD0V9KXWSJPCFNNPT
Started going to a chiropractor. I found I was trying to treat my symptoms without figuring out the cause. I do NOT know if this has helped my feet but my pain started lessening around the same time, so I am continuing to go for now.
I still have flare-ups but they are less intense now and are for shorter amounts of time. After searching on this sub for almost a year and trying all of the things, I truly believe there is no one magical cure! But maybe one of these things will help you!!
