Important information about the surge of NRPGs

G’day, Cybriel Quantum here, the suggester of the NRP tag and I have experience in NRPGs for more than 2 years.

I have seen people complaining about that there are too many RPs popping up and that they can barely find a few Alt history posts.

To me, this is history repeating itself.

let me tell you a story about r/countryballs_comics

Once in r/countryballs_comics, a wave of RPs hit the community. People enjoyed it, they had fun and loved to role play as countries or their own countries.

But months passed, and the topic that the Subreddit for countryball COMICS had barely any comics that were a struggle to even find in the mountains of RPs.

Eventually, the RPs has been kicked out of the community and moved to r/Countryball_Mappers

But when they thought they could thrive there, the amount of newbies finding out about RPs ran out.

This made the countryball RPs die out since there weren’t any new players coming in and it became repetitive over time, making it slowly die.

Some made their own subreddits like r/ZheLuyon or r/MapOfToulmond This didn’t help the problem because the experienced players were leaving.

Currently, the countryball community is called ‘Death by exile’

The point

What I’m trying to say here is that this is happening now in this community too. This story is real and I experienced it myself.

But I want you to remember that you have tags for certain topics and posts. You can find posts that way and it’s the reason why I suggested the NRP tag, so you can filter it out if you’re not interested in it.

I don’t want RPs to die out again, I’m talking my heart out since when the RPs died out in the countryballs side, it was depressing. Sticking in the same RP with no newbies who can mess around with wild ideas.

Please don’t let this happen again

I’m begging all of you, either if you’re not interested or are a die hard. I’m begging you to put some effort and just use the tags to find the type of posts you like. Prevent the death of RPs that others do like.

If you don’t like RPs, you could be better and just not say anything about it, because there are plenty others who do like NRPGs, there are others that are diehards for it, there are people who care about it. Just use the tags to click it away if you don’t like it. It’s really easy, just one click.

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear your thoughts!
