blood splatter in hotel bathroom?

I checked in today to a 3-star hotel in a very touristy but remote town.

I was using the bathroom when I noticed some pretty hefty red splatterings on the walls in one corner of the room. Then I also realized there was red drops on the ceiling above that corner, and on the floor by a nearby trash can. As far as I can tell, there isn’t any similar stains on the rest of the bathroom nor apartment.

At a distance it’s hard to notice because of the color of the tile, but up close it looks like nobody has tried to even clean it up. It looks dry? (I have not tried touching it). The droplets definitely form bumps from the floor/wall/ceiling, so it is more than a superficial stain.

I am not particularly freaked out by it, but am curious what happened here.

Some theories: 1) IV drug use. It seems to come up when people ask on the internet about weird blood splatters on ceilings. Is it normal to have this much splatter? Can anyone share pics of what that looks like for comparison?

2) Nosebleed. One of my housemates in college got a really bad nosebleed (the kind where you have to go to a hospital to get it cauterized), and she got blood on a couple of our walls. I guess it kinda looked a bit like this? But the ceiling splatter seems pretty hard to do from a nose bleed.

3) Really thick red liquid someone was trying to dispose of in the bidet. Bidets are known to hit ceilings when turned on with nobody’s butt to intercept the water. But it’s not directly above the bidet. Also, the splatter pattern seems too viscous to have been sprayed up by a jet of water.

4) The Killer. I can imagine some violence getting blood splatters on the ceiling and walls. But it’s very confined to this one part of the bathroom, and I think a wounded person would get at least some blood on other surfaces.

I am staying for a few days, so I can run ~tests~ if someone wants me to. On the other hand it is pretty gross, and I will probably ask hotel staff to clean it up tomorrow.

UPDATE: Talked to management after getting some sleep. According to maintenance, they were working on the radiator and something (rust?) sprayed out. Unsure whether I believe that, but it’s more believable than other options… Housekeeping is cleaning it, and they offered to move me to a different room after today’s checkouts.
