Part-Time employee

Asking on reddit before going down the HR/Benefits center rabbit hole.

My particular line is getting slower due to lower demand by boeing blah blah..., my supervisor asked us for volunteers to switch to another line. So I suggested to go part time instead (Assembler 1) I'm going to school and the pay decrease is manageable. Any pros and con to consider by going part time beside the pay decrease?
