ReMarkable doesn’t replace or repair units with dead pixels; they just send new units at random 😞

Since I first placed my order on September 5 and received it on September 20...I was using it for almost two weeks until, after using the backlight mode more, I discovered that the screen had several dead pixels that were quite annoying and distracted me every time I studied my PDFs. I reported it to reMarkable, and they told me not to worry, to send them my tablet, and they would replace it with one that had no dead pixels.This is the same thing they said after each failed replacement, and I’m now on my fourth, all of which have several dead pixels, and they always promised me that they understood my frustration and would fix it next time.

After the third replacement, a support guy finally confessed to me that they don't check anything; they just receive your defective unit in Hong Kong and automatically send a new one as if it were newly purchased from a distribution center without checking anything before sending it. They told me it was up to me to decide what to do: keep trying my luck to see if the next one has none or request a refund. Let me tell you, this seems like a very unprofessional attitude and a disgrace from such a company.

I paid almost 700 euros for this product; I'm not obsessive, I just want a product without dead pixels so I can study at night in my room with backlighting. It’s a shame they lie saying they repair or check units before sending them; they do neither.

reMarkable, if you’re reading this, for God's sake, for once in your life, fulfill my order as it deserves and send a product that you verify has 0 dead pixels. It’s the least you can do after such an expensive order and given that we support you as consumers. It’s as easy as turning on the backlight and opening a PDF with several colored backgrounds. In the last two units I received, the defect was so embarrassing that the dead pixel was visible on the initial setup buttons.

I love this product, and that’s why I’ll keep trying, but I need all this to be known and to vent my frustration here because I can’t take it anymore. I’ve been unable to use my reMarkable Paper Pro to study for over two months since the Launch of this product, which is what I wanted.
