How to fill this gap after removing rotted wood?

I removed some rotted wood at the corner of this window and now need to fill the empty space.

I wanted to put a piece of 2x2 in but can’t figure out how to get it into that space. I included a photo of it for reference.

How would you fill this 4.5 inch space without redoing the whole window?
