go-juice dependend ghouls cannot take go-juice?

just gave my ghoul go-juice dependency only to realize it is, for no apparent reason, not allowed to take it. it wont automatically take it and when attempting to force it, it says "Unsuitable drug".

this seems like an oversight. my ghoul will just die now as i have to wait 2 years for the genes to regrow and by then it will die from the dependency. of course i can revive it but it will also suffer all the debuffs until then. and i dont get why? anyone got an idea? i am using mods but id be surprised if they caused any of that. anyone else got the same issue?
