Ergonomic and durable handheld?

I'm reselling my Retroid pocket 5 as i find its ergonomics to be trash. I'm looking to mostly play below PS1 and port master.

What the best Portable, ergonomic and durable handheld on the market? I've heard good things about the cube, but wouldn't mind more suggestions for this criteria.
