Best cities for healthcare professionals?

TIA for any input. Curious if anyone has an opinion on this. Generally, areas with a healthcare provider shortage (such as doctors and PAs) that pay aggressively, and actually have something to do in that city or less than 45 minutes away? Not looking for small towns which I'll arbitrarily define as less than 50K people and over thirty minutes from a decent sized town. The ideal place would pay healthcare workers well but also include a large hospital.
