Owens’ Questioning of Sarah

I’ve just finished having another listen to Sarah’s testimony. It struck me this time how many times Owens asked about and mentioned Sarah being drunk that night (and in general), even stopping her testimony at times to ask her “and you were drinking?” Or “and you were intoxicated,” etc. I don’t get why he was doing that. Was he trying to prime the pump for manslaughter? Too drunk to be malicious? It made her look so bad. Also, he really referred to the suitcase as a “briefcase” at one point after earlier saying “that’s a big suitcase!”
