Anyone think Edin SHOULDN’T eventually be a single?
At first I was surprised “Edin” wasn’t picked as a single, but now I don’t want it to be. One of the things that surprised me about AMM was the power of the album’s opener and I feel like making it a single would effect that experience of, “Wow, this is a strong opening, this is going to be a pretty powerful record.” I can still remember the elation of hearing the first 45 seconds or so when I got it in August and being really impressed and eager to engage in the experience I was about to have - it sucked me in immediately. It’s almost like a surprise that hits you hard and to take it out of context would make it less powerful. I think one of the reasons I love it is that it’s like a great introduction to a short but well-crafted novel. Anybody else feel this way?
Also, Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate! Eat something with pumpkins! For fun, here’s a photo I took back in August.
