There are two things I’m confused about when it comes to Shadow’s story

I recall reading something stating that his memories of Maria are fake, but that doesn’t make sense especially after the recent Shadow Generations. SA2 also makes it look like Shadow was created AFTER Maria died so I’m a little confused by this. It was recently that I thought of this.
