Where did I go wrong?
I just baked my first loaf and it did not go well...
Details:
- I've been keeping my starter for 3 weeks and it has been doubling reliably for the past week and a half.
- Yesterday morning, I fed my starter and it doubled. Then, here's the recipe I followed:
-1 and 1/2 cups of filtered water.
-1 cup of active starter (it passed the "float test").
-3 cups of bread flower.
-2 teaspoons of salt.
-After mixing together, I covered with a towel for about an hour, and then did stretch and folds in 30 min intervals for three hours. It took that long for it to not be sticky.
-After that, I left it in the fridge for 24 hours. It didn't rise at all.
-I put it in the oven in my dutch oven at 475 degrees for 25 mins, then with the lid off for 15 mins. This is what it looks like. It honestly doesn't taste bad - but obviously there is a lot of room for improvement lol. Any insight would be amazing :)
