Tree not growing

Ok, so I learned on the Wiki that q fertilized tree (not fruit) is mature in 5 days. So I planted a pine cone, oak, and maple seed on my farm, sprinkled 'em with tree fertilizer, and waited for 5 days. The pine tree is not growing. It's been 6 days and it still hasn't grown. Any idea as to why? Thanks in advance!
