Exploring UAV Applications for Delivery and Surveillance: Feedback Needed, i will not promote

I’m a Mechanical Engineering student exploring the idea of developing two specialized UAVs:

1. Delivery UAV: Targeting quick commerce delivery systems.

2. Surveillance UAV: Designed for police/military use with advanced cameras for reconnaissance.

The project will involve extensive research and prototyping over 2 years. Here’s the vision:

Delivery UAV: Focused on payload capacity (~2–3 kg), reliable navigation, and safety for urban operations.

Surveillance UAV: Long endurance (~60 minutes) and equipped with thermal/infrared cameras for search and rescue or defense.

I’d love your thoughts on:

1. Market Feasibility: Is there space for such UAVs in the current startup ecosystem?

2. Funding Opportunities: Should I approach investors or rely on grants for research?

3. Scalability: What additional features could make these UAVs stand out in a competitive market?
