Degradation in Extension Quality?

Have extensions gotten worse for anyone else? They always had worse quality, but I have extended over a dozen times and not a single one has been usable, all laser fight anthems - the last one I listened to literally sounded like the record needle jumped out for a moment in the middle of the song.

It's frustrating as I wrote a long narrative song and now can't get the whole thing.
