What is happening in episode 2 season 4 (SPOIL)

I just binge watched the whole show until s04e02. It was until now better and better, it never disappointed me too much. The characters are smart, make the right decisions, and I clearly had a good time. Plus, the writors put all their heart in the whole 3rd season, the five first episodes are.. Great. So here I am: starting from s04e02, everything just crashes so hard, to my mind. Why don't Nat and John help Superman, or even the boys after Supes is gone? It's like they don't exist anymore when they totally should be there. Then, why is it possible for Lex to keep that monster in an underground and just look after him through a metro wagon glass? Why are the rhythm and most of the lines soooo weird and off? (See the scene where Lois tells gramps about Jon having powers, who wrote that, who validated such a poor acting from Sam?) Am I the only one thinking this series died at this very moment? I'm expecting It to go back strong any minute now. It reminds me of Misfits, s04e01 when the show suddenly makes no sense anymore after reaching a state of the art season 3. I will conclude with that scene in which Jon gets his power. I am sorry it's doesn't work. The show was good to establish things slowly, surely, in a cohérent way. Okay "he's a natural" but getting all the powers in 15s. is too much for my small brain. I'm not in the show anymore, for now, and will continue watching it... Now ! I would be happy to have your opinion about this. 🤝🤝🙏🙏
