Game Cartridges Not Reading

So, my 7yo son decided that he was going to force a game into the slot upside-down and backwards. The literal 36 hour old switch he got for x-mas/birthday no longer reads the games.

My question is, do i need to buy a replacement cartridge reader, or can I take it apart and reposition things that were moved/bent in the process of said jamming of game?

I found one on amazon that I'll buy if need be, but I'm currently waiting for the correct screwdriver to get here before I tear it apart, & figured I'd ask if I was better off just ordering the new game cartridge replacement now.
