Target Sentence PSA

(US Rater)

Remember that if we’re doing Target Sentence tasks, we only rate the Target Sentence and NOT the whole response. Some of us have started getting the tasks with previous raters’ assessments again and there’s lots of them which are done wrong. (At the end of the instructions it states that we might get other raters’ work- this is what I’m referring to.)

Example:

-Prompt: Michael Jackson

-Response:

Michael Jackson was born in 2003. ‘Thriller’ is one of his most famous songs.

-Target Sentence:

‘Thriller’ is one of his most famous songs.’

A search will show it is accurate. We don’t take into consideration the claim that he was ‘born in 2003’.
