Not actively trying yet, but already anxious. Any insight appreciated!
Hi all!
I do not have an official PCOS diagnosis, but based on the fact my sister and my mom have it, I do not have regular cycles at all, and other signs, I'm 99% sure I have it. My fiance and I are getting married next summer and hoping to start trying a couple weeks before we wed (probably starting in April/May-ish). I have been tracking my cycles for a few years, but only recently started to try to address the root cause of my irregular periods. I was on the shot for a few years and have since been off it for about 2 years, so I don't think birth control is causing the problems.
I've started taking Ovasitol and drinking spearmint tea. It's been about 2-2.5 months on Ovasitol (planning on purhcasing the next tub today) and about a month on the tea. My last cycle (a few weeks after I started the Ovasitol) was 89 days, compared to my typical 100+, but not sure if that was a fluke.
I have been tracking BBT and very recently started using OTKs. I am now on CD30 and there is no ovulation in sight, with OTKs on the pre-mom app reading around 0.15-0.3ish. I know with super long cycles it's going to be on its own schedule, but between tracking and trying what I've read has helped others has feeling so anxious about when the time comes.
I'm going to start on a prenatal in the new year. January 1 is when I get new insurance too, where I'm hoping to be able to see a RE to help. When I asked my OBGYN what I should/could be doing to help myself in the meantime, all she said was "lose weight." I have lost about 6 lbs in 2.5 months, which isn't great considering I'm still in the mid-230 lbs range at 5 foot 2, but it's the first time I've been able to lose weight and keep it down basically my whole life.
Sorry for the rambling, just wanted to get all the details I thought were important. With that information, is there anything you wonderful individuals recommend I do? Any vitamins I should be taking? I am so anxious about conceiving and it sticking.
I have never had so much as a pregnancy scare, despite using the pullout method for the past year and a half or so. Any insight would be much appreciated!
Thank you all in advance for your help!
