Sand board/terrain for D&D/Warhammer

So here's my next project, a 50x50cm sand board for D&D and Warhammer.

The base is a polystyrene board cut to 50505cm. I then prepared wood bark and xps polystyrene and created rocks and stones. The whole board is slightly undulating to resemble small dunes, this effect is achieved with modelling compound. Once everything was modelled and assembled it was necessary to paint everything.

Because of the intended sand/egypt look I painted the base yellow. I imagined the stones to be reddish and the result is beautiful to see. Now all that was left were the small stones around the rocks and a large amount of sand. Once I was happy with the look it was necessary to use a spray bottle to apply glue and alcohol and hopefully make the sand look natural. Fortunately, everything worked out well.
