If the U.S. had an initial contribution of 100 billion and then contributed only 10 billion per year since then, the fund would be worth 40 trillion.

Stable nations operate on a scale of decades to centuries, they should utilize the power of compound interest. This is especially useful for nations with strong currencies with governments that borrow at low interest rates.
