Off Screen Deaths

Cyclops - X-Men Movies.

I get that there may be reasons why a character is killed off screen, such as schedule conflicts. Maybe it’s a mystery as to who killed them. I’d done right then it may be compelling but I still hate this trope.

If you are going to kill off a major character then at least give them a proper death. Cyclops is one of main members of the X-Men, a very popular character (who I say wasn’t given the proper treatment in films) and he was killed off screen. The last we saw of him was his face going weird before cutting away.

Then in Spider-Man 2, Electro (along with Vulture and Shocker) were killed off screen despite being major characters in the first game. All we got were audio recordings.

I just find off screen deaths to be lazy.
