+1 day after FFS

Feel free to ask any questions. This photo is from my overnight stay after surgery, probably 10 hours after surgery. I'm a lot more bruised now. I'm 30 years old, ~130lbs and about 5'6''.

Recovery sucks. I'm incredibly swollen and in mild pain. I'm on Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen for pain, and that keeps it super manageable. The congestion from the nose splits suck as much as everyone says they do. I also have Tramadol, Xanax XR, and Valium as needed, but I haven't really needed them. I take the Xanax XR in the morning anyway because anything to take the edge off helps in the morning.

I'm not the happiest with the results but I'll know how it feels 3-6 months from now. I went to Deschamps Braley in SF. Price was around 120k. My insurance completely covered it. I picked him for his bone work and it feels like he did a good job there. I wanted more soft tissue work but it looks like I only got half of what I wanted there. I can get that revised later with a lot less recovery. This was partially my fault, I don't have enough donor fat in my thighs. I was 120 at my consult in October and managed to gain about pound a week to surgery (132lb). I'd shoot for a higher BMI next time if I plan on fat grafting. I wanted 25cc of fat but only 15cc could be safely harvested.

6 to 7 hours under anesthesia does a number on my body. This was my first time going under for anything (I oped to do my wisdom teeth while awake). It went about how everyone says it does. The drip started, i got the O2 mask, and then next memory I had was in the recovery room. After I could walk I was moved to a private room, and from there slowly made progress to moving on my own, getting to the bathroom, getting the catheter and drains out, and eventually getting discharged. I was there for about 28 hours maybe? Surgery probably finished around 2pm and I was less nauseous enough by 10-11PM to not throw up while moving.

Staff and everyone was wonderful and very helpful. Someone was always in the room with me to check on me.

I have the expected amount of nerve damage that was clearly communicated to me prior along with all the other risks. The only really annoying one is my lower lip, so I'm drooling a little unfortunately. Most of the nerve damage will heal though the next few months.

Probably a lot more I'm forgetting.

Procedures were: Trachea shave Forehead contouring type 2 Scalp advancement Brow lift Rhinoplasty Jaw contouring Chin contouring Fat grafting

I got advice from two doctors on getting forehead type 3 or not, and generally type 2 was agreed to be better for my case. I have a small brow ridge, but it really only needed 1-2mm off and bone cement was used to round out my forehead. After seeing the results and mocks I agree it was the better choice in my case.
