Should I just quit streaming?

So, I made a post a while back about how I had lost my voice and was looking for ideas on how to continue communicating while in VR.. Now, I'm headed into the 3 month mark of not being able to talk properly.

When I talk my voice comes out like Mickey Mouse at a whisper. If I'm lucky, I'm mostly auditable, but more often then not my voice cuts out. My throat burns when I speak and I end up having a coughing fit if I talk too much.

I've really tried to accommodate my friends.. but lately I've been receiving more and more flak for not talking. I have a bit of a voice, but it hurts to speak. Despite trying to explain that, people still give me shit for not talking..

Today, this turned into a good friend of mine screaming at me in game. He just.. completely set off about my squadmate and me not talking, yelling about how he was going to remove me from his friends list.. The real issue is, he's not the only one... I've had good friends start to ignore me and my requests to play together because I can't talk. It's also starting to affect my streaming, it's really hard to keep up with replying to chat when you have to type out your answers.

TLDR: It’s been 3 months since I lost my voice and now it's affecting my life, my friends, and my stream.

Edit: Thank you, everyone, for your advice and mostly support. This has given me a lot to think about moving forward. For those of you asking about doctors and specialists, I've already got that handled. We've looked for fungal infections, done a multitude of medications and the appointment for an ENT specialist is finally set.

I'm going to try a bit of rebranding and continuing streaming, but if it's not for me then it's not for me.

Edit 2: I've found a way to use text to speech through my microphone in order to communicate in game and during my stream thanks to this thread. For any people moving forward who want a simple way to do it, I set up the virtual audio cable to be the output of my microphone for a Microsoft program called Type to Voice Chat (it's free). It reads out your text and using VB, you can have the output go through you microphone.

Edit 3: The ENT found nothing and has referred me to a new doctor. I have no idea what I'm going to do.
