Alberta

Was speaking to a buddy of mine from Alberta who got into eng this year. When I asked him what his average was, he told me that he got a 92 but UBC bumped it up to a 96. WTF.... why do Alberta kids get bumped 4% (only ubc does it btw). Someone could slack off in grade 12, get an 86 and still be competitive for a lot of programs

Edit: not trying to rub anyone the wrong way, I just want an explanation.
