Question about Information Sciences

Hi, I just got accepted to UIUC and I'm very happy. However, I didn't get the major I wanted(cs + econ). I got into the school of information sciences. When I did some research about the school I couldn't find much as it is a new major here. So, I was wondering if anyone could please inform on the type of average salary I would be looking at and if many companies recruit from this major. If anyone is already in the ischool, could you please let me know how your experience is so far. Also, how hard is it to transfer to a cs + x major? Thank you!
