[Help] HomePods Lose Connectivity When Roaming Between U7 Pro and U7 Pro Max

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with my HomePods . They only work when an iOS client is connected to the U7 Pro. However, when the client roams to the U7 Pro Max, it can no longer ping the HomePods, even though both devices are on the same VLAN.

Additionally, I can’t ping the HomePods from my iPhone 16 Pro Max when connected to the U7 Pro Max.

Network Setup:

  • APs: U7 Pro & U7 Pro Max
  • Switch: USW Pro Max 24 PoE
  • Native VLAN/Network: LAN (VLAN 1) - 192.168.1.0/24Tagged VLAN Management: Allow All
  • VLAN: Home Secure VLAN 999 (HomePods & iPhone are on this VLAN)

Home Secure Network Settings:

  • IPv4 & IPv6 Enabled
  • Features Enabled:
  • Allow Internet AccessContent FilteringIGMP SnoopingMulticast DNS (mDNS)IoT Auto-Discovery

Wireless Settings for Home Secure:

  • Wi-Fi Band: Enabled
  • MLO Proxy ARP
  • BSS Transition
  • UAPSD
  • Fast Roaming
  • Multicast Enhancement

Switch Global Settings:

  • Spanning Tree Protocol
  • Rogue DHCP Server Detection
  • DHCP Snooping
  • Jumbo Frames
  • Querier: Recently set the Switch Pro Max 24 PoE as Querier (no change noticed)

I enabled the Multicast Router Port on the switch ports connected to both APs same issue!

Main Question:

Could this be related to mDNS, IGMP snooping, or VLAN handling between the APs? Any suggestions on additional tests or configuration tweaks are appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

UPDATE:

when I create a new SSID 2.4Ghz only and just for the client (iPhone 16 Pro Max) it's work but all the devices are 5Ghz compatible, testing now if the issue is due to MLO
