Normal calprotectin, Dr thinks it’s IBS but have had consistent bleeding.
So I have IBD (proctitis) and I’ve had bleeding, gurgling noises in my rectum, and some increased urgency for the last few weeks. My calprotectin came back normal/borderline at 49. My Dr thinks it’s an IBS flare but how does that explain the blood and rectum noises?
Last year I have had sporadic symptoms (gas, frequency, urgency, occasionally mucus/blood) which my Dr attributes to IBS because my calprotectin was lower and the colonoscopy showed reduced inflammation, and I rarely had bleeding so the other symptoms could be attributed to IBS. This makes sense to me. But this time I’ve had blood and the noises for almost 2 weeks which I haven’t had since the flare that got me diagnosed with IBD. What do I do? My last colonoscopy was November last year.
