Urethral Dilation - Terrified
Hi all,
On Friday, I have to go in and have a urethral dilation - the first step that the urologist wants to try for my suspected stricture. I have all the hallmark symptoms, and he believes the dilation is the best way forward for now. However, I'm absolutely terrified. He said I'll have to have a catheter for three days or so post procedure. The procedure will also be done under anesthetic, so that's one plus.
Can anyone give me some good news stories? I realise dilation is pretty unsuccessful, but is there anyone here who's dilation was? Mine was probably caused during puberty, which has progressed over time (started having symptoms at 21, now 36).
So, yeah ...
