How Do I Fly Japan

I've been getting into WarThunder (still kinda new) and I just can't get the hang of using Japan air. I heard the A6M5 was good, but it cant seem to out accelerate or out turn anything. Every time I try to fight spitfires they are just miles above me and one-shot my plane. Any tips would be much appreciated.
