Airpods only connecting to voice

Out of nowhere my airpods pro stopped connecting with voice and audio and now only connects with voice. The result is an awful audio quality that sounds like it comes from a 20 year old doll's voice box. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting including: Setting them as my default device, updating drivers, removing the headset feature from devices, and of course checking for windows updates. Anyone else have this issue or have any ideas on how to fix it?
