On Hope
The suffragattes had no proof that any of their ideas were possible. No one had ever succeeded at what they were trying to do before. How easy it would have been for them to have just given up. "Its pointless why even try".
But they fucking didn't. They said "fuck you we're doing it anyway" and now women have the right to vote.
For most of human history, half the kids just died every year because of the winter. You would get a small cut and just die of infection. Democracy didn't even exist as a theoretical idea.
They didn't give up. They kept pushing for a better world. They found ways to endure and be happy anyway.
Giving into despair is a choice. A choice they are counting on you making. Choose to fight instead.
Hope is an act of rebellion. Hope is something they can't ever take from you no matter how hard they try.
When you want to give in, remember, they kept fighting, and they won. And if they could do it. So can we.
