360hz OLED vs 360hz TN with DYAC 2

So I'm thinking of either upgrading my main monitor (AW2723DF, 1440p 280hz IPS) to either a 360hz OLED panel or a 4K 240hz OLED panel.

I play a wide range of games including MMOs, Single Player games and Competitive games, however my main game is CS.

I am either thinking of upgrading to the Alienware AW2725DF which is a 1440p 360hz OLED and using that as my main monitor for all games or upgrading to the AW3225QF which is a 4K 240hz OLED and using that for most of my games such as the MMOs and Single Player games (and everyday content consumption) and then having a XL2566K as an extra monitor on my setup just to use for competitive games such as CS and Valo.

The only thing stopping me from making the second option I stated above is the motion blur reduction technology. I had a XL2546K before which is the 240hz TN with DYAC+ and I found that DYAC+ actually made a difference and things were cleaner compared to just a usual 240hz panel without DYAC. However, I'm wondering if 360z with DYAC2 actually makes a significant difference compared to a 360hz OLED because if it doesn't I'd be perfectly fine just upgrading to the 360hz 1440p OLED model and using that for all my games.

NOTE:

PC Specs:

  • RTX 4080 Super
  • AMD Ryzen 7800x3d
  • 32GB 5600mhz RAM

I believe I'd be fine running 4K games at a reasonable and playable FPS so that shouldn't be a factor when deciding between the two.

I also do not mind the curve of the AW3225QF so that isn't a factor when making this decision.

UPDATE:

I'll leave what I ended up deciding and why below, I feel like I should do this as a lot of posts are left without this and leave people asking what the decision was, even if they do say what the decision ended up being they rarely explain why.

I ended up going with the AW3225QF and Zowie XL2566K on the side for competitive games (Will also have my AW2723DF on the right side for media consumption while playing games) .

The AW2725DF was REALLY REALLY tempting, one because it's the perfect size and refresh rate in my opinion (27 inch 360hz OLED) but the drawbacks it has compared to it's competitors really put me off. One being the fact that it doesn't come with an actual HDMI 2.1 port so DSC will need to be used in order to reach 360hz, now I'll probably never notice this but when I'm spending a lot of money this just leaves me feeling a bit disappointed, it also apparently doesn't allow the creation of custom resolutions which I sometimes use in CS. I've found some work arounds using CRU but it's been hit or miss for some people and would rather just be able to make them the usual way. The Alienware QD-OLED monitors apparently cause some eye strain as well which I also don't hear about the MSI and Gigabyte competitors. This would have been really annoying especially since I would've been using this to play long CS2/Valo sessions.

Lastly, Going with the AW3225QF means that I don't really have to worry about the forced DSC as I won't be pushing 240 fps in any game at 4K (I know DSC may still occasionally kick in, however, I'm not worried about it hindering my experience, even though I know I can virtually not see the difference when DSC is enabled or not) , this just means I get to enjoy the 4K Resolution and OLED Panel. The AW3225QF also won't be the main monitor I use to play long sessions of competitive games so hopefully if the eye strain problem is true, it shouldn't be as annoying as it would've been on the AW2725DF. Also, I get to use the XL2566K for CS/Valo, these probably have the best backlight strobing technology, only ULMB 2 comes as an equal. I remember I felt the difference between 240hz no DYAC and 240hz DYAC back in the day so using the XL2566K will get guarantee I get the best experience out of the competitive games I play. I know this may have been the more expensive option and the worries I have about the AW2725DF are probably just nit picking, however, I always feel like if I'm going to spend a lot of money and I don't feel like I'm getting the best experience I could be there isn't much point doing so. I probably would have opted for the MSI MAG 271QRX if it was available in the UK right now with a similar price to the AW2725DF.
