What is being taught in high school about politics?
In 2006 when I graduated high school, our social studies teacher had taught us all about how Albertans vote conservative-it’s what we do-it’s our identity. I liked my teacher, didn’t really care about politics, but always voted conservative without ever really learning about why. Well, for a decade or so anyways. I don’t believe the conservatives are in any way good for AB anymore.
Has the education system improved since, to encourage critical thinking and knowledge seeking with politics?
There are many, many families who don’t vote or care or educate their young ones. They just don’t know to, because they never have, and they think their one vote doesn’t matter. SO I’m just really hoping school steps up with this..
