Is Jujutsu Kaisen Overhyped?

Many of my friends recommended me to watch JJK and so I wanna give it a try and binge it if it really is good. So I waited a couple of months then I started watching it. Watching the first episode feels weird to me since I felt that the MC lacks motivation or that his motivation didn't reached me. He was also described as the vessel who comes only once in a thousand years. Another chosen one trope?. And so I kept watching then I realized that this show is an amalgamation of Ao no Exorcist and Chainsaw Man but I look past it and continue. Going to the villain, their motives really just feels generic compared to other good shounen shows and manga. I'm already at Episode 20 and their motivation still feel misplaced. With the show almost over, I don't know how Mappa is going to show the information that will be both entertaining and informative. The side plots also feels pointless. The school competition just came out of nowhere just to introduced new characters, use them compete in a TOURNAMENT AARRRRCCCC instead of combing them to the main plot. The main story is stagnant and feels like a distraction. And sometimes the jokes isn't really funny and falls flat. But ngl, the female characters are looks good to bad they don't have enough screentime. The animation is amazingly good but the plot still feels a bit off.

Maybe I just don't like the exorcism genre, but I did enjoy watching Blue Exorcist. There's still a couple of episodes left so I hope they'll make me eat my own words. (Also english isn't my first language so hopefully nobody will judge my grammar)
