How do I download a mash with a selected background?

I started playing around with mashing finally but im confused on how to download with a background. When I hit the "download avatar" button it downloads the avatar with a white background like the 2nd photo. If I hit save it then takes me to where I can choose a different background. How do I download the avatar with that selected background instead of white?
